Rio v nových šatách/ Rio in the new clothes

 ENG version inside:V Riu sa už vo veľkom chystajú na olympijské hry. Mesto sa mení, budujú sa nové stavby (nielen) na športové využitie. So stavbami premieňajú aj verejné priestranstvá. Takmer celé Rio dostane novú  podobu. Jedným z nových objektov je múzeum “Museum of Tomorrow“.


Rio is already preparing for the Olympics. The city is changing, new buildings are built (not only) for sport. Public areas are renewed as well. Almost the whole Rio gets new look. One of the new buildings is called Museum of Tomorrow.



Múzeum navrhol španielský architekt Santiago Calatravao, známy najmä svojimi návrhmi mostov.  Charakteristickou farbou jeho prác je biela, takže nebolo prekvapením ani to, že múzeum dostalo práve túto farbu.

The museum was designer by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, who is famous by his bridges. White color is very specific for his works, so it was not surprising that the museum get this color.

 Stavba sa nachádza na móle Maua pri mori . Vykonzolovaná strešná konštrukcia s dĺžkou 75 metrov vytvára výrazný architektonický prvok. Celá budova má rozlohu 15 000m2 a výšku 18m , no predsa pôsobí ľahko, ako by sa plavila po vode. Architekt sa inšpiroval okolitou prírodou.

The building is located on the Pier Maua . The cantilevering roof is long 75 meters and make expressive architect accent. The area of whole building is 15 000m2  and the height 18m, but still looks so light. The architect was inspired by nature.


Interiér je vytvorený tak, aby okrem výstav mohol priestor slúžiť aj na iné účely (konferencie, koncerty, veda). Trvalá výstava dostala miesto na vrchnom poschodí.

Interior was designed to be a place for concerts , conferences etc. The permanent exibition is located in the building´s top floor. 


Stavba dostala certifikát LEED ( Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) a to kvôli spôsobu chladenia interiéru využitím vody z Guanabara zálivu a získania energie zo slnečných panelov. Výkonnosť panelov sa zvýšil ich pohybom, ktorí sa mení podľa polohy slnka.

The structure get LEED certification ( Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).  The interion is cooled by water from the Guanabara Bay and the building is powered by solar panels. The effectivity of solar panels is increased with possibility to follow the orientation of sun.
